Estate pools at the edge of the Everglades

Parkland sits in the far northwest corner of Broward County, bordered on its west by open land near the Everglades. The city grew with low-density, large-lot zoning, so pools here are usually bigger than in the older suburbs to the south. Gated communities such as Heron Bay, Parkland Golf and Country Club and Cypress Head make up much of the city, most of them built from the 1990s onward, while the Ranches area still has acreage, horse properties and homes set well back from the road.

Big pools raise the stakes on chemistry. A dosing mistake on a large pool takes days and a lot of product to correct, and many Parkland pools run salt chlorine generators, variable-speed pumps, heaters and automation that respond badly to out-of-range water. We measure carefully every visit, clean salt cells before scale cuts their output, and check automation schedules so equipment runs when it should. Most homes also have an attached spa, and a spa's small, hot volume changes much faster than the pool, so we test and balance it separately through our hot tub and spa service.

On the ranch properties, water supply is its own issue. Many rely on private wells, and well water can carry iron, hardness and other minerals that stain surfaces and build scale on tile and in heaters. Those pools get metal and hardness testing and a plan for how the pool is topped off. Parkland's open western edge also brings wind, which carries dust, grass clippings and pollen across wide lots and into the water, so skimmers and filters work harder than the pool's size alone would suggest.

What Parkland pools deal with

Large pool volumes

Estate-sized pools need accurate testing and measured dosing. We track readings visit to visit so small drifts are corrected before they turn into big, expensive swings.

Attached spas and automation

Most Parkland pools share equipment with a spa, a heater and an automation panel. We balance the spa on its own and confirm schedules and settings each week.

Well water on ranch lots

Iron and hardness from private wells cause staining and scale. Metal and calcium testing guide how we treat the water and how it is refilled.

Through the year

A year of pool care in Parkland

  • Cooler months

Spas get their heaviest use when evenings cool off from December through March. We watch sanitizer closely and check heaters before the first chilly nights.

  • Windy spring

Dry, breezy weather carries dust, pollen and clippings across open lots. Filters and skimmer baskets need more attention through spring.

  • Summer rain and storms

Heavy afternoon storms dilute chemistry in large pools and can knock out power to automation. We rebalance after big rains and check settings after outages.

Parkland FAQ

Questions from Parkland pool owners

My Parkland pool is large. How precise does chemical dosing need to be?

Very precise. On a large pool, a small error in the amount of acid or chlorine can take days to correct. We test on site every visit, calculate doses for your actual volume and record the results.

Why does my attached spa get cloudy faster than the pool?

A spa holds a small amount of hot water shared by several people, so sanitizer burns off quickly and pH drifts. We test and adjust the spa separately from the pool every visit.

We use well water on our Parkland ranch property. Will it stain the pool?

It can, if the well carries iron or other metals. We test for metals and hardness, use sequestrants when needed and recommend how to top off the pool to limit staining and scale.

Can your technicians get into Heron Bay and other gated communities?

Yes. We service homes in Heron Bay, Parkland Golf and Country Club, Cypress Head and other gated communities. Once gate access is arranged, your technician comes the same day each week.

What ZIP codes does your Parkland service cover?

33067 and 33076, which together cover the city from the gated communities to the Ranches.
