Heavy leaf and seed drop
Mature trees keep skimmer baskets and filters full. Weekly service keeps debris from settling and staining the finish. Leaves that sink overnight release tannins that tint the water.
Pinecrest became a village in 1996, and its character comes from its lots: many homes sit on generous, heavily planted properties along and west of Old Cutler Road. The village's own park, Pinecrest Gardens, occupies the former Parrot Jungle grounds, and the same lush, tropical planting fills most backyards. That makes Pinecrest pools some of the most beautiful on our routes, and some of the hardest to keep clean.
Big trees overhead mean steady leaf and seed drop, and many pools are shaded for part of the day, which slows chlorine loss but invites algae in the corners. Larger lots often put the equipment pad far from the pool. Long plumbing runs need properly sized pumps and settings, or circulation suffers at the far end of the pool.
Many Pinecrest homes are older ranch houses with pools that have been renovated at least once, so we regularly see a mix of old and new equipment. We keep it all running and tell you honestly when an upgrade, like a variable-speed pump, would pay for itself.
The village is overwhelmingly single-family, so nearly every pool on this route is a private backyard pool rather than a shared amenity. Families here tend to swim year round, and over the years many have added heaters, attached spas or screen enclosures, each with its own equipment and quirks to keep in order.
ZIP codes on our Pinecrest route: 33156, 33157.
Leaves piling up faster than you can skim, weak flow at the far end, or an old pump that's getting loud — call us.

Equipment far from the pool needs the right pump size and settings for good flow. We check circulation at the far end, not just at the pad.
Renovated pools often pair new heaters with old pumps or plumbing. We keep everything working together and note what is installed at each pad, so replacement parts match the first time.

Heavy tree cover means Pinecrest pools benefit from regular deep cleans on top of weekly service. Silt and fine leaf fragments collect on the floor where skimming can't reach.

Shaded pools on wooded lots are prone to mustard and black algae in low-flow corners. The far end of a long plumbing run is often where it starts.

Weekly visits keep up with constant leaf drop so it never gets out of hand. The same technician learns which trees shed when on your lot.
Learn more →Oak leaves and pollen come down heavily. Baskets and filters need attention every visit, and a clogged basket on a long run starves the pump quickly.
Warm water and shade encourage algae. We keep sanitizer levels steady and brush shaded areas thoroughly, especially after a week of daily downpours.
Wooded lots collect branches and debris in the pool. We clear it before the equipment runs and check screen enclosures for torn panels or limbs on the roof.

Weekly at minimum. Pools under heavy canopy collect debris fast, and leaves left in the water stain plaster and feed algae. Some customers add periodic deep cleans during heavy leaf seasons.
On large lots the equipment is often far from the pool, and long pipe runs reduce flow. The fix may be pump settings, a different pump, or cleaning a restricted line. We test and explain the options.
Often, yes. Larger pools with long plumbing runs use a lot of pump energy. A properly set variable-speed pump can move the same water for less electricity.
Yes. Our routes cover the Old Cutler corridor, the Pinecrest Gardens area, Ludlam and the rest of the village.
Less skimming, yes, but not less care. Pollen, small seeds and fine debris still get through the mesh, and the extra shade lets algae settle in corners. We brush and vacuum weekly regardless and tell you if we spot damaged panels.
Both of the village's ZIP codes, 33156 and 33157. Most Pinecrest addresses fall in 33156, while 33157 takes in homes along the southern edge toward Palmetto Bay. Either way you're on the same route, with the same technician each week.
Pinecrest sits between our Palmetto Bay, Coral Gables and Kendall routes, so help is always nearby.
